Women's Running Training

Players should be into full running schedules in preparation for the National Championships in October where its possible four games could be played in two days.

A sample weekly schedule is below. Please note the longest run of the week should be a minimum of four miles completed at an easy pace. Complete static stretching sessions (20-30 minutes) every time you run.

Monday: Easy run 2-3 miles.

Tuesday: Medium run 2-3 miles, 6-8 intervals 80% x 60 yds jog reco.

Wednesday : Easy run 3-4 miles.

Thursday: Skills & Game Practice 90 minutes + running drills, sprint drills & interval work.

Friday: Off

Saturday: Game, Cross Train or Medium run 3-4 miles.

Sunday: Long run 4-6 miles.
