On Friday evening at the Pratt Industries 2005 Jersey Presentation Night Brent Bacon was again announced as the Atlanta Kookaburras Club Captain. Bacon's third year as Captain is a record term as club leader for the Kookaburras which indicates the strength and respect of his leadership on and off the field.
Bacon will be assisted by two Vice Captains and both Revolution members BJ Gambaro and Ben Crist. Both those players along with Travis Quigley hope to be selected to represent the USA for the International Cup in Melbourne, Australia in August. Final selection for that tour will take place immediately after the East v West game in Dallas Texas on April 30th 2005.
On Friday evening special guest Australian Consul-General to Atlanta Amanda Hodges presented 2005 match jerseys to all Kookaburra players in attendance at the Marriott Perimeter Center function. The MVP auction took place with the most sort after groups sold for well over $150 each as buyers looked to scoop the pool when best player votes are cast at the end of the year for all Kooka games. A great night was had by all as the Kookaburras look towards their first road game of the season on Saturday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
