Atlanta Kookaburras

The Atlanta Kookaburras got back into the winners circle on Saturday with a resounding win over MAAFL rivals Chicago United. The Kookaburras got off to great start with five goals in the first quarter and never looked back. The win over Chicago was equally refreshing knowing they were earlier in the year touted as possible MAAFL Champions in 2006.

The Kookaburras sporting a few new recruits this week were too strong all over the ground and the Chicago team had no definite answers to Atlanta's game. The Atlanta forward line did what it pleased for most of the day and were well supported by the centers and backline players. In the team for Atlanta were eight new players for 2006 a great sign that the recruiting efforts of the club are paying dividends on the field.

The final score was Atlanta 20.11.131 defeating Chicago United 8.11.59 a massive 72 point win for the Kookas their second and most pleasing win of the year.
