The Kookaburras created USAFL history this past Saturday in Milwaukee taking both a men's and women's team on the road for the first time. The Kookaburras men's team met MAAFL leaders the Milwaukee Bombers and went into the game us huge underdogs. Conversly the Lady Kookaburras were hot favorites against the Milwaukee Explosion women's team. The Explosion were taking to the field for their innuagural game. The Lady Kookaburras rolling out another two rookies started the game in good fashion in the sunny conditions kicking three goals to nil in the first quarter, where both teams had several promising forward moves. After that it was all the Lady Kookas when they found their form from last month in Sarasota, Florida totally dominating the rest of the game. The final score Atlanta 16.24.120 to Milwaukee 0.0.0
Unfortunately for the Atlanta visitors the men's game was to be a near reverse of the opener. The Kookaburras were outrun and outplayed by a far more accomplished Milwaukee outfit. Traveling with the bare 14 players the Kookas tried hard all day and never gave up but the Bombers had the MAAFL Premiership in their sights and were not going to take their foot off the gas. Final scores Atlanta 3.2.20 to Milwaukee 19.20.134.
