The Atlanta Kookaburras traveled with a small squad to Baton Rouge knowing that a positive result was going to take a huge effort in the very warm conditions. The Kookas had last year also traveled to Louisianna with a light squad and had been give a lesson on how to play. This years things were to be different. In a spirited game the Kookaburras not only took the game up to the hosting Baton Rouge Tigers but showed that with endeavor, skill and a positive attitude anything is possible.
The Kookaburras with two players severely hampered by injuries and no bench players to assist were still full of run till the final siren running out winners by 39 points. Jim Batten with 5 goals in the first half and a bung knee after that and Hugo Sach on one leg in possibly his last game were two of the reasons the Kookas triumphed.
The Kookaburras are now 2-0 for the season and have their next game on May 12th versus the Florida Redbacks
