Kookaburras back on track with big win
Tuesday, 05 June 2007

The Atlanta Kookaburras hosted the Baton Rouge Tigers on Saturday and came away with one of their biggest wins ever defeating the visitors by 110 points in front of a great enthusiastic crowd. The Tigers brought only a small squad and with some inexperienced players still learning the game found the going tough from the first bounce.

The Kookaburras were led by the returning Ross Larossa with a Best on Ground performance with 5 goals with great support from the consistent Brent Kewley and Alan Mobley throught the middle. Also returning to the Kookaburras team and playing a great game was Co-Captain Ben Crist after a hand injury.

The Kookaburras had ten goals on the board at half time then opened up in the third term with seven more to blow away their oppositions chances completely. The Baton Rouge players stuck at their game though and as in previous encounters earned plenty of respect from their Atlanta opponents.

The Kookaburras now can focus on their biggest test of the year against the Milwaukee Bombers at home on June 16th. Get down and support your Atlanta Kookaburras in their last home game for 2007 which includes the debut game for 2007 of the Lady Kookaburras, the current USAFL National Champions against the Milwaukee Explosion. Games start at 12.00pm.
