The Atlanta Kookaburras returned to the winners list with a solid win against the traveling Baton Rouge Tigers on Saturday. The Kookaburras who were coming off a bad loss in Florida were consistent all day kicking 5 goals in every term.
The return to the forward line by Warren Ballagh was a handy move by Coach Jim Batten in the absence of the regular key forwards. Ballagh kicked 7 goals for the day and his strong marking gave plenty for the Atlanta midfielders to aim at. At the other end of the ground Baton Rouge's Patrick Muller was putting on a show of his own with 6 classy goals from his teams total score of 7.4
It was a great day of footy enjoyed by a better than average size crowd and a much needed win for the Kookaburras who face the Milwaukee Bombers in two weeks up north on the road.
Atlanta Kookaburras 5.1 10.5 15.9 20.13 (133)
Baton Rouge Tigers 1.2 2.4 5.4 7.4 (46)
