Kookaburras appoint new Head Coach |

 The Atlanta Kookaburra recently appointed Jim Batten as their new Head Coach for the 2008 season. Batten who has been around the club several years and most recently held the Treasurer's position, takes over from Mike Powers after his two years at the helm. Batten wasted no time getting acquainted with his new role coaching the Kookaburras during the recent scrimmage game versus the USA Revolution. Batten also recently returned to the playing field in the local AARFL competition after knee surgery in 2007 showing he will also lead by example. After coaching soccer successfully in Europe many years ago Batten is in his debut year as an Aussie Rules coach but his passion and enthusiasm for the game is unmatched and sure to be valuable asset to the Kookas season in 2008. |
